What is Silk Nodes?
At Silk Nodes, we take pride in being positioned as one of the most decentralized validator operations. Distinguishing ourselves, we maintain full ownership and self-hosting of our hardware, strategically distributed across two geographically distinct locations— one in Ireland and another in Utah. Unlike several validators who merely assert their commitment to "decentralization" while relying on common hosting providers that dominate a substantial portion of the network, Silk Nodes deliberately adopts a more decentralized approach. This philosophy aligns with our conviction that true blockchain decentralization necessitates a proactive commitment to diversification.
In addition to our dedication to decentralization, we offer an extensive array of services. These encompass custom Discord bot integrations, both public and premium node infrastructure services, routine node snapshots, and comprehensive guides tailored for emerging validators, among other offerings. Our commitment extends beyond mere validation, embodying a holistic approach to support and empower participants within the blockchain ecosystem.
What is your teams expertise / track record?
We boast a compact yet highly proficient multinational team, encompassing a diverse range of expertise including software development, DevOps, business development, and system administration. Moreover, our team collectively possesses extensive years of experience, further bolstering our capabilities and allowing us to consistently uphold the highest standards of excellence in all our endeavors. This depth of experience, coupled with our unwavering commitment to excellence, ensures that we consistently deliver exceptional results across every aspect of our operations.
What is your Infrastructure Security Setup?
At Silk Nodes, we own and operate our own bare-metal infrastructure, strategically located between the US and Ireland, to ensure maximum uptime and reliability. This setup allows us to deliver high-quality, high-availability products for the chains that we validate on, showcasing our commitment to infrastructure excellence.
As a validator that takes security seriously we will run at least two nodes for a validator and run remote signing software Horcrux to ensure the highest availability and security.
To fortify our operational integrity, we have implemented enterprise-grade monitoring systems. The amalgamation of Grafana, Prometheus, tenderduty, and PagerDuty forms a sophisticated infrastructure that promptly alerts us to any irregularities in our validator node's performance. This proactive monitoring framework allows us to respond promptly to emergent issues, particularly during critical chain outages, demonstrating our unwavering commitment to maintaining the stability and security of our validator node.
How do you handle Governance Decisions?
At Silk Nodes, we approach Protocol Governance Decisions with utmost seriousness and dedication. We prioritize active participation in governance processes and strive to represent our delegators to the best of our ability.
