EURC is a euro stablecoin issued by Circle under the same full-reserve model as USDC, backed 1:1 by euros held in euro-denominated bank accounts and redeemable 1:1 with Circle. It is the euro counterpart to USDC, not a wrapped or synthetic euro. Staking Rewards tracks every DeFi venue currently paying a yield on EURC — Aave and Fluid today — and grades the vaults behind those rates.
Yes, through DeFi lending — EURC has no native or issuer-paid yield, and Circle pays holders nothing. The live table on this page ranks every tracked EURC venue by rate. Expect materially lower numbers than a dollar stablecoin: EURC yield is set by euro borrowing demand in a much smaller market, so the venue set is thinner and the rates track euro rather than dollar conditions.
Because they are different currencies, not different-quality products. EURC rates reflect euro borrowing demand and euro-area interest rates; USDC rates reflect dollar demand, which is larger, deeper and structurally higher. Comparing the two headline numbers directly is a currency comparison disguised as a yield comparison — a USDC position earns more dollars, and is exposed to EUR/USD if euros are what you actually need. The cross-asset table on Staking Rewards shows both, labelled by denomination.
EURC is fully reserved by Circle in euro bank deposits, with the same reserve and attestation model as USDC, and Circle is regulated in the EU under MiCA. The risks that remain are the venue's, not the token's: smart-contract risk at the lending protocol, liquidity risk in a small market where exiting a large position can move the price, and depeg risk under stress. Staking Rewards publishes a DeFi risk grade on the vaults paying these rates, which is where the real variance sits.
On the venues in the live table on this page — Aave and Fluid are the tracked routes today, and both are non-custodial lending markets. The EURC venue set is small enough that the whole market fits in one table, which is not true of USDC. Each row shows the current rate and links the vault's DeFi risk rating, so a thin new market paying more is visibly distinguishable from an established one paying less.
EURC is the largest euro stablecoin by a wide margin, and the only one with a full-reserve, MiCA-regulated issuer of Circle's scale. The alternatives are materially smaller, which shows up as thin DeFi liquidity and few or no lending venues — the practical constraint is not whether a euro stablecoin exists but whether anywhere pays a yield on it. That is the comparison the venue table on this page is for.
