FAQ's
- How to stake Rapids?
To stake RPD coins it is recommended to run the Rapids Core wallet with an entire copy of the blockchain on your Computer or a Virtual Private Server (VPS).
Inside the wallet you can decide to stake your RPD coins or run a masternode if you have at least 10,000,000 RPD.
To get the highest possible rewards, please make sure to stay online 24/7 and keep the wallet unlocked for staking only.
- How much can i earn staking Rapids?
The individual RPD rewards depend on the relevant blockchain metrics: Block Reward, Block Time, Staked Balance for Stakers and Active Masternodes for Masternode Operators.
Every block one staker and one masternode operator is randomly selected whereas 1 staked coin counts as one “lottery ticket”. The selected staker has the right to create a new block and broadcast it to the network. He then receives the block reward and the fees of all transactions successfully included in this block.
The Block Reward is currently 3,567.35 RPD, whereas Stakers receive 30%, Masternodes receive 60% and 10% go to the development subsidy.
In our Staking Calculator you can play with the above mentioned metrics to understand the dynamics and create all kinds of reward scenarios.
- Is there any risk to stake Rapids?
Staking RPD is safe as long you protect your private keys. There is no risk of slashing.
